Locust Valley, NY — Following a mostly rainy June, the clouds parted to give us a spectacular day for golf at the 2009 CancerCare Annual Classic Golf Tournament, held on June 25 at The Creek Club in Locust Valley, New York.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and golfers, nearly $130,000 was raised to support CancerCare's free services including professional counseling, education and financial assistance for people facing cancer.

What a course!
The sun was shining as 98 golfers arrived in the morning to participate in a fun-filled day that started off with an amazing brunch on the porch of The Creek Clubhouse. With breathtaking views of the award-winning 18-hole course, the golfers were in good spirits as they broke off into foursomes to compete in low-net, low-gross, closest-to-the-pin and longest-drive contests. Off the course, the golfers took a swing at close to 50 raffle items ranging from TaylorMade golf clubs, fine wines and tickets to Yankees, Mets, Giants and Jets games. Each golfer also received a complimentary official 2009 USPG golf bag.

Ellis Ende, Charles Raich, Brian Landow, and Louis Renzo enjoy a beautiful day of golf.
Burgers, hotdogs and grilled chicken sandwiches fueled the golfers during the day, but the real hole-in-one was the 2 lb Maine lobster that put the surf in the surf 'n' turf dinner featuring filet mignon, barbeque chicken and a huge spread of gourmet desserts that was enjoyed as the sun set over Long Island sound.

Generous Platinum Co-Sponsors PACOA and Raiche, Ende, Malter & Co., LLP were joined by other notable sponsors including DAP Inc., The Goff Group, Paint Sundry Brands and USG Building Systems. Additional sponsors included Momentive Performance Materials, Rechler Equity and Rust-Oleum Corporation.
