Counseling

Our professional oncology social workers are available to help you

Through our toll-free counseling and information help line, you can speak directly with a CancerCare professional oncology social worker who will help you cope with the emotional and practical challenges arising from a cancer diagnosis. Our social workers also assist with practical issues such as finding financial help and reliable resources.

To speak with an oncology social worker, call us at 1‑800‑813‑HOPE (4673).

Managing Your Cancer

Online Support Groups

We are currently accepting new group members for our online support groups. Led by a professional oncology social worker, each of our online groups provides a convenient way to find support and share information with people in similar situations. We offer groups for patients, caregivers, loved ones, young adults, and the bereaved, and all of our groups are completely free of charge.

Connect with CancerCare:

Ask CancerCare

Ask CancerCare lets you submit a question to our experts on a specific topic each month. During June, submit questions to our expert about helping children cope with cancer.

In Your Words

“I didn't know the scope, or how dramatic and invasive the process [of cancer treatment] would be. The emotional support really made a big difference. The first thing I say to someone diagnosed with cancer is, go to CancerCare right now.”

—Jonah, melanoma survivor and CancerCare client with his wife, Kathryn
